(Bio)ethanol

One-stop-shop with dedicated expertise and excellent infrastructure

Our Rotterdam terminal, the key hub in our bioethanol storage portfolio, features tanks with capacities between 10,000 and 12,500 m3 and deep-water access. It offers connectivity to all transport modes (vessel, barge, truck, rail, pipeline) for comprehensive distribution needs. With tank-to-tank trading opportunities, it is the premier bioethanol hub in ARA for a large pool of market participants. All our terminals provide in-house customs support for import/export declarations and eAD (electronic excise document) administration.

Efficient denaturing solutions, both in-line and in-tank

Depending on the end-market, denaturing ethanol can be of tremendous added value. By offering in-line denaturing using EN228 gasoline at its Rotterdam terminal, we enable an efficient operation that does not require segregated blend tankage. For larger cargoes, in-tank denaturing is possible at our Amsterdam terminal. Ghent operates an in-line blending facility for denaturing trucks for industrial and pharma-grade ethanol.

Bioethanol imports for gasoline blending

Bioethanol, a widely used renewable alternative to fossil fuels that can be blended with gasoline, is increasingly gaining market share in global road transport. Our Amsterdam terminal boasts an extensive gasoline storage network, ideal for tank-to-tank blending of E10. It’s a prime location for blenders seeking all-in-one operations or traders selling in-tank to multiple gasoline customers. With tanks up to 25,000 m3, Amsterdam facilitates large bioethanol imports and breaking bulk.
